Last year, the Beauty Stylist of the Year awards named Todd the 2016 Beauty Stylist of the Year for Australia and New Zealand, giving him the opportunity to head to Paris for the International Beauty Stylist Awards later this year. Judged on the criteria of best hair design in cut and colour, along with the most impressive total look including fashion styling and make-up, stylists were to create a collection of four images that heralds their own interpretation of fashion-forward trends in hair and styling.

Todd’s winning images came together thanks to a collaboration of Brisbane’s finest creatives – photographer Simon Woods leant his 25 years of experience as a photographer, director and filmmaker to create the striking collection. The founder of iconic performance troop Zen Zen Zo, Simon also spent many years at the helm of production at QPAC and the Brisbane Powerhouse. Gail Sorronda, one of Brisbane’s most successful and celebrated fashion designers, brought in her unique styling eye and remarkable garments, while our very own hair and make-up artist Rachel Espley, having worked across the globe backstage at fashion weeks in Paris, New York and Australia, knew what it took to paint the perfect face to complement Todd’s hair design.

Flying into Paris, the iconic Pavilion Champs Elysées rolled out its red carpet for the prestigious International Beauty Stylist Awards ceremony where Todd then competed against 25 other countries for the title of International Beauty Stylist of the Year. The winner will then accompany the global La Biosthetique Artistic team on the 2017 Trend Tour in Germany to work on stage with some of the biggest names in the global hairdressing industry. The competition in Paris is world class and any stylist that makes it to the finals are held in very high regard.
